"This photograph belongs to my husband (Brian Wheatcroft) who attended the school 1947-51. He is unable to put a date on it but thinks it no later than 1948.
I asked him if he could put a name to any of the faces but he can only remember three: Michael Bradbury, Ralph Sampson and John Charles Kirkpatrick. Maybe someone else may be able to add a few more." Photograph submitted by Sheila Wheatcroft 

"My Dad, Alan Wynn, left Cottesmore in 1951 so he remembers a few of the names in the photo supplied by Sheila Wheatcroft.  In no particular order:- Derek Campey, Tubby Johnson, Alan Atkinson, Dave McMillan, ? Scott, Georgie Ward, Johnny Johnson & Teacher – Mr Everett, metalwork.

Richard Gadsby makes some additional comments regarding this photograph.  He wondered whether it might have been taken at Pipewood Camp or possibly on a Thoroton Society [History] Day visit.  He is able to add some more names: Michael Dobbs (fourth from the left at the rear –partially hidden), __ Morrell directly in front of Michael Dobbs) and to Morrell’s right __ Jepson.  He also thought he (Richard Gadsby) might be the boy kneeling in the middle.
