This gravestone bearing the name of Thomas McLean was taken for an article entitled Tommy Surefoot of Notts County F.C. that appeared in Lenton Times Issue No.16. Photograph taken by Paul Bexon in 2000. A horizontal portion of stonework on this grave (not shown in the photograph) carries the following inscription: and Donald Grundy McLean younger son of Thomas & Annie Mclean died Feb. 17th 1939 aged 45 years. He served his Country gallantly in The Black Watch (Royal Higlanders) and the The King's Royal Rifles during the Great War 1914-18. |
