The photographer was standing with his back to the Beeston Road junction when he took this shot looking along Greenfield Street in July 2005. The road markings indicate that this part of Greenfield Street has been incorporated into part of Nottingham's network of cycle routes. Using Greenfield Street and then turning on to City Road provides cyclists with an option that avoids having to use Beeston Road.
The view looking south along Greenfield Street from its junction with Highfield Road. In the far distance is Beeston Road. The modern set of semi-detached properties built in 1990s on a hitherto vacant plot on Beeston Road can also be seen in this shot taken in May 2004.
Greenfield Street is composed of residential properties but at one time it would appear that this property also housed some sort of business. The evidence for this is the outbuilding at the back plus the projecting metal beam which must have been used to lift items into and out of the roof space. If any one can tell us more about what went on here we would be delighted to hear from them.
