The original of this picture postcard is in the possession of Maria Levey. It was sent by Norman Heath, her grandfather, to his then fiancée in 1911 while he was staying at the farm. Norman Heath's sister was married to Percy Woolley's brother. Percy Woolley then owned Grove Farm.

This shot taken from the Clifton side of the River Trent, in 1920, shows Phyllis Beecroft posing on the river bank with Grove Farm farmhouse behind her on the other side of the river.

After Grove Farm was purchased by the Prince of Wales he had the farmhouse rebuilt and it is this replacement farmhouse that can be seen in this 1927 photograph.

A more distant shot of Grove Farm, now known as the Prince of Wales Farm, from the other side of the River Trent also taken in 1927.

Still on the Clifton side of the river we get a slightly closer view of the farm house and associated buildings in this picture postcard, probably published in the early 1930s.  After the prince's departure the farm would once more revert to its former name of Grove Farm.

The image on this picture postcard was taken from a plane on 24th May 1932 and given away that same day with the Nottingham Evening News. It shows how Grove Farm was affected when the river Trent burst its banks. The particular picture postcard we have taken the image from was sent in the post to someone in Cambridgeshire the following day. On the back the sender has written 'The floods have been awful & this card gives you an idea of the amount of water. Some of the wards have been 6 feet deep in water. We are safe - on the hill: but the garden is sodden. Will write on Sunday.'
